CRI (Colour Rendering Index)
CRI is the measure of the ability of a light source to render the colours of objects in comparison to an ideal or natural light source. This is a score where the maximum is 100. CRI values of 90 or above are considered excellent.
CRI is used to measure artificial light sources, such as LED and fluorescent lamps, against a test source which has a CRI of 100 (such as daylight). CRI measures and compares the reflected colour of objects under these artificial light sources and gives them a score out of 100.
When illuminating your space, you want the lighting to reflect colours as realistically and naturally as possible. A lower CRI means that some colours will appear unnatural when being illuminated by the artificial light source.
When it comes to selecting the correct LED lights for your business, the CRI is a very important component to take into consideration.
